The 12th of August is World Elephant Day which coincided with the release the internationally acclaimed documentary Diary of an Elephant Orphan. This moving film tells the remarkable true story of Khanyisa, the albino elephant calf rescued by HERD (Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development) Trust after being caught in a snare.
